Starter Replacements
The starter in your vehicle is what enables the engine to start up and turn over. It is all too easy to confuse signs of a weak starter with that of a dead battery or alternator. Your car needs a fully charged battery in order for the starter to engage properly. When your starter is failing, your vehicle may exhibit the following symptoms:

The alternator on your car keeps the battery charged. When the alternator begins to malfunction, it can prevent your vehicle’s battery from recharging properly.

Any time a vehicle is experiencing an electrical problem, a charging system test should be performed. Whether alternator or battery related, a charging system test will be able to determine whether the alternator is providing sufficient output to maintain the system. A battery test will also be performed to confirm there are no internal issues with the battery that could have led to the failure of the alternator. Other components related to the operation of the electrical system, such as the alternator drive belt and the belt tensioner assembly, will be evaluated.

The type of alternator you choose to have installed on your vehicle may also determine the overall time. If your vehicle’s alternator is removed and sent off for repair, this could potentially take a few days. A rebuilt or new alternator can be installed within a matter of hours, depending on parts availability, plus the added time for removal of the faulty alternator.
